TA Services Announces Mill Site in Cofield, North Carolina for Nucor Corporation, North America’s Biggest Recycler of Scrap Metal

MANSFIELD, TEXAS—July 12, 2022 — TA Services, a premier full-service logistics provider, continues its rapid expansion with the opening of a new dedicated mill site for Nucor Corporation, North America’s most diversified steel and steel products company. With more than 36 years of experience transporting a range of steel products, TA Services is proud to support Nucor’s mill plant in Cofield, North Carolina. After breaking ground in January 2022, TA Services continues to help Nucor’s logistic team store and ship steel plate to their customers. TA Services set up operations on Nucor’s plant site in rural Cofield, NC to add immediate access to truckload capacity for local, regional, and national shipments, while managing the day-to-day inventory of finished goods.

With operations running 24/7, the Nucor site produces a wide variety of plate steel that can range from a modest eight feet to over sixty-five feet in length. Once the steel is produced on site, it is sorted and stored, and then the TA Services team loads and transports the steel freight to its final multiple destinations via stretch trailers.
